It’s a damn small minded man who can think of only one way to spell a word…I think Andrew Jackson said this. Therefore I make no apologies for spelling, grammar or the way I write…I apologise if this upsets you but…oh damn…I apologised. Anyway, I’m aware of it…so it won’t do you any good to point it out to me again. Thank you for your understanding. *see extended for more*

Life & Eating Bugs

Ahhh…there’s so much in this world that needs a good talking too, perhaps even a good kick in the bottom. I am constantly bewildered by the complexities of our human social behavior. I sometimes wonder if people can step back and look at just what they’re doing…so ridiculus are some of the things I’ve seen people do. I’ve been formulating a theory that life is very straight forward and simple, but we being human can’t deal with that so we add all of this drama. Why I’m not exactly sure. I think that if we could just watch ourselves for a little while we’d see just how stupid we really look and we’d be so ashamed that we’d straighten up and behave properly.

There is one thing that I’ve been confused by and that’s this show Fear Factor. I haven’t watched it, but evidently it entails eating gross objects…amongst other things. The thing that has surprised me the most are the people that watch it, people who I consider to be both intellectual and sophisticated to some degree (on a side note, I don’t look down on anyone for watching this show). What I find hard to understand is why this is so popular…I mean I’ve watched nature shows and documentaries and seen all kinds of people eating all kinds of odd things, not to mention seeing lots of folks do lots of crazy stuff that might get them killed. In my own life experience I’ve seen my Grandfather eat brain, pigs tongue…etc…I’ve seen migrant Mexican workers cook catfish heads with a look of delightful expectation. Now these things were all “real” (I assume the nature shows and documentaries are true…dangerous I know)….the thing about this show is the producers aren’t going to put the contestants in any “real” danger…they can’t risk getting them killed or maimed…that would end the show…at least I would hope, but who knows, if the the ratings are hight enuff… For me that kind of kills it…maybe if they had to answer trivia questions or something while eating cockroaches…now that might be fun…I can just see Regis asking them if they want to use a life line.

But seriously…the fact that we’re so entertained now adays by watching people lower themselves to the basest of human emotion and reaction…what does that say about us…me included…I’m quite sure if I watch Fear Factor I’ll be enthralled…I hope not…but perhaps.

Good Question

>>Seeing as you’re a boy, perhaps you can answer this question for me.

>>Why do some guys think chicks want to be groped, fondled, hugged, touched, and kissed just >>moments after meeting? Goodness, give me some space to breathe, ya know? Maybe I’m the in >>minority of women who like to take things slow and easy and wait until the right time to engage in >>such activites.

Darn good question, I’m not sure I’ve ever done this…personally I tend to be very skittish about making contact with a woman who I don’t think is open to the idea or inviting…even hand holding.

My theory is that men who do that feel they have nothing to lose because they aren’t worried about dealing with you beyond the current experience…so with nothing to loose they just go for it. At least if I was just jumping all over a woman I’d just met (besides pissing my wife off) that would be my rationale. Not to pick on the men, I think women do the same thing…just in a different way…I think what makes us that physically bold is a combo of needing to “get off” and a lack of worrying about the consequences or the assurance that you won’t have to deal with them.

Hope that helps :-)
